I am trying to load any of the other templates besides the default template (DotNetNuke.install.config). I am running the starter kit version and VWD. I have tried this on two separate computers, on which I had no troubles about a week ago. All of a sudden both installs of VWD and DNN went gunnysack and wouldn't install SmallBusiness.install.config or the other options. Let me repeat, I have had this working on two separate computers, and now both of them go haywire when I create a new site!

Yes, the only common variable in this scenario is the NUT at the end of the keyboard, so what am I doing wrong here?

I get the following error:

DotNetNuke Upgrade Error

The Assembly Version ( [ASSEMBLYVERSION] ) does not match the Database Version ( [DATABASEVERSION] )

Failed to load Install template.

I found the instance of DotNetNuke.install.config in the ProjectTemplates>DotNetNuke.zip, but I could find no instance of:

SmallBusiness.install.config

Personal.install.config

Club.install.config

What is going on here?

The templates you're talking about are in a different location. The DotNetNuke.install.config file is the host installation configuration. For the templates, look in the Portals\_default directory for the .template and .template.resources files - the latter is a ZIP file with any files that need to be uploaded to the portal.

Hi there - I am pretty new to DNN..I have just got DNN running with DotNetNuke.template.config set up in the web.config file, but when I change this to

<add key="InstallTemplate" value="Personal.install.config" />

 

get the same error as you:

 

DotNetNuke Upgrade Error

Failed to load Install template.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

I'm having ALL of the same issues with installing these other templates...I'm currently uploading the resource files ya'll were talking about to see if that changes anything. Hope someone chimes in the correct way to install the other templates because this is driving me NUTTY! I'm tired of fooling around with my installation files for the 14th time...and I want to be able to have a set hosting environment free of gliches, but until I get these templates I'm stuck.
