Is there a way to create hyperlinks so that the paths are relative and flexible?

For example if I link to an internal page, and later I change the name of that page, I don't want the hyperlink to break. Is there a way to do this in DNN v.5.02.02?

If you know the TABID for a page you can create links with /default.aspx?tabid=## where replacing ## with the proper ID. this link will always go to the page, no matter what the name. This isn't great for SEO though as the URL will be different for the page. One way around this is to use the free FriendlyURL provider from Ifinity http://www.ifinity.com.au

Thanks Chris. This will work for us for now.

Do you know if there are any plans to make this the default behavior when linking to internal pages? Many of our users are not sophisticated enough to identify a tabid and create a parameter in this way.

Unfortunately I don't think that will ever become the default behavior. Like I said, right now it is bad for SEO as you could go to that tabid url, or the named URL, and get the same content, but to a search engine that looks like two separate pages.
