Could you give some advice on "pulling it down locally" please?  :)

I have managed to backup the database and restore it on a different server and copy the site to a different server.

I found in the table PortalAliases where to change the server name.

I changed the web.config to point to the new database server.

Is there anything else to make sure I change?

You'll also need to configure IIS locally to work, using whatever portalalias you've configured for the local environment.

In the web.config make sure you changed BOTH connection strings.

Thank you for all of your help on this.

Now I am just looking over one of the portals to make sure the upgrade did not effect anything and came across this problem.  They are using the Blog Module and at the top of the module this appears:

An error has occurred.
DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. ---> System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at DotNetNuke.NavigationControl.SolpartMenuNavigationProvider.Bind(DNNNodeCollection objNodes) at DotNetNuke.UI.WebControls.SolPartActions.BindMenu(DNNNodeCollection objNodes) at DotNetNuke.UI.WebControls.SolPartActions.Page_PreRender(Object sender, EventArgs e) --- End of inner exception stack trace ---

Maybe this should be moved to a new discussion?  Anyway, any ideas on this?  I have tried installing the most recent version of the Blog Module to no avail.
