I just updated 5.3.1 in my web site and it immediatley gave me a compilation error in:

~/App_Code/Chat/dnnchatcodehelper.vb, line 309:

invalid reference to Web.HttpHandler

I just solved it by editing the file and adding the fully qualified: System.Web.HttpHandler

Same thing with:

~/App_Code/XML/handlers/Download.vb lines 31 / 89

I've read in other forums the this kind of thing may happen because by having the telerik web controls dll installed you need to

specify the fully qualified references: "System.Web.HttpHandler" instead of just "Web.HttpHandler"

At least that worked for me...

I just installed source 5.3.1 and was able to run it w/o issues regarding xml, you need to remove the module or upgrade prior to core upgrade.

Fixed the issue an easier way...

Changed Web.HttpHandler to System.Web.HttpHandler

~/App_Code/XML/handlers/Download.vb lines 31 / 89

I dont know what version of XML module I had before but this file had to be edited since it is not part of the upgrade package.  open Download.vb with notepade edit lines 31 and 89 to have the System.Web.HttpHandler since there are 2 references that do not have "System" before Web.HttpHandler

Was a quick fix once I was shown this was the issue and I will hope to remember to fix these issues faster next time I come across this issue.
