I installed DNN, then got the error that I've added at the bottom of this post, Then uninstalled it, then, deleted ALL old files from the FTP to eliminate the possibility of the old files somehow effecting the DNN install, and reinstalled DNN and got the same problem Has anyone seen this error? If so, What do I do to fix it?

You need to grant full control permissions to the root folder (and all child folders) of the DotNetNuke installation to the ASP.Net worker process account.

If installing on Windows XP/Windows 2000 (IIS 5)  that account is the ASPNET account.

If installing on Windows Vista/Windows 2003 (IIS 6/7), it is the NETWORKSERVICE account.

If installing on Windows 7/Windows 2008 Server (IIS 7.5), please see the following article regarding file system permissions: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/B...

Also, since it appears that the error was being logged to the xml log file, you may have a problem with your database connection.

Before making an attempt to re-install, be sure to delete all the files from the earlier attempt AND if you had set up a blank database (rather than using the App_Data\Database.mdf database already in the DotNetNuke package on SQL Server Express) delete and then recreate the database.

Ok, I'll give that a try now.

Thanks, Jeff...

Ok, here's what I found. It turns out that there was an old, (Very old) version of DNN installed in the hosting under the primary domain. I don't know why it was effecting this installation because this domain is aliased under the primary. Anyway, I removed the old DNN version from the primary root and reinstalled the new version in the aliased Domain and got an error referencing a different permissions setting, I went in to my Godaddy hosting, set the permissions and everything worked perfectly.

 Thanks for your help,

         Jeff...
