I upgraded an older version of DNN to 05.03.01 using the upgrade packedge from DNN homepage. It worked well with the earlier upgrade to 05.02.02

After upgrade I have problem when klicking on my usename: Nothing happens. Tthe edit userprofile is not opended.

Hi All.

I have exactly the same after upgrading to 5.3.1.

Funny as well is that beside the username of some users there are numbers enclosed in brackets like this: (1) showing that this user is having one new mail. Ah...ok....nice, but i do not have any mail-related modules nor the forum module installed.

Cheers

 Hi,

@ Bengt
I have the same issue !

Kai

With 5.3.1 (5.3.0) there is Messaging included in core function, Take a look here: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Community/B...

New Features

  • Templated User Profiles - User profile pages are now publicly viewable
  • Photo field in User Profile - Users can upload a photo to their profile
  • User Messaging - Users can send direct messages to other system users
  • Search Engine Sitemap Provider - The sitemap now allows module admins to plugin sitemap logic for individual modules.
  • Taxonomy Manager - Administrators can create hierarchical category lists that can be shared and used across modules

Regards, Sandro

OK, i'm guilty. I do not read all announcments regarding new versions.....

But i guess i'm not the olny one as there are some more threads about this.

And what i haven't found is the info that the message module is marked as premium which leads into the fact that it is not listed automatically in the available modules list when you want to place it somewhere else. And it has some open issues like checking recepiants name when not knowing the exact (!) usersname.

However, looking forward to 5.4.1 (Yes i know, 5.4.0 is still not available but i never ever install a dot-zero version ;-) )

OK folks, now i'm really angry, not to say pissed.

After getting this error with 5.4.0 i made a total rollback (haha, i'm having a fullbackup, but anyhow.....), i waited for 5.4.1 and made again an upgrade today.

Guess what? New behaviour but still not the desired one.

That means that the old rule is still valid: What's new in the new version? New bugs...

When clicking on the user name the installation just reloads the actual page (different, in 5.4.0 it was jumping to homepage). When going directly to the page where the userprofile module is placed it just tells me that "This module is only intended for use on a page which is defined as the profile page for the portal"

Yes, this specific page is set as profile page in the site settings and i tested the names "User Profile"; "Profile Page" and "Banana", always the same.

Yes, i restarted IIS, i killed cache and cookies.....

OK, as i need a working (!!!!) profile page i will again roll back to 5.3.1
