Hey Alex,
I can't figure out the steps to create the environment to recreate the issue.  We have permission from Michael Hagar to distribute a copy of his site in order to assist in resolving the issue.  I'll open a PE ticket and work with your support team in order to resolve the issue.

My client has graciously offered his site files/db to the DNN/PowerDNN support teams to help sort this problem out for the community.

Tony, Ill leave that with you. Please keep me in the loop.

We have our own servers.  Unfortunately there is not much to tell apart from after upgrading to 5.3.1 or 5.4.1 (did not install new modules in 5.3.1) the installer broke.  The error message is exactly what was posted in this thread.

One thing to note is this particular install was has been around since 4.5 and upgraded at every major release available.

Thank you very much for the offer Ky.  Because it is the same error, I'm going to hold off on sending the other site until the corp has had a chance to look over the first site I sent.  I spent quite a bit of time digging around in it, and I can tell you, it isn't an easy issue to troubleshoot at all - the methods being called are private/protected/friend which means that they can't even be called directly (makes writing troubleshooting code really hard).

@Philip -
Thank you very much for leading up this effort for the community.  I know that since these are CE websites, your team is going extra above and beyond in investigating and resolving this.

Just a follow up that one of our clients is also having this problem. I have not determined what specific hosting they are on yet but the issue appears to happen on some modules but not others. From what we have been researching the issue happens on larger modules that require more time to install. The issue / bug they are receiving during the installation process is: DNNFailure ExceptionSystem.Collections.Generic.KeyNotFoundException: The given key was not present in the dictionary. at System.ThrowHelper.ThrowKeyNotFoundException() at System.Collections.Generic.Dictionary`2.get_Item(TKey key) at DotNetNuke.Services.EventQueue.EventQueueController.GetSubscribers(String eventName) at DotNetNuke.Services.EventQueue.EventQueueController.SendMessage(EventMessage message, String eventName) at DotNetNuke.Services.Installer.Installers.ModuleInstaller.Commit() at DotNetNuke.Services.Installer.Installers.PackageInstaller.Commit() at DotNetNuke.Services.Installer.Installers.PackageInstaller.Install() at DotNetNuke.Services.Installer.Installer.InstallPackages() at DotNetNuke.Services.Installer.Installer.Install() Any ideas? -Chad
