I need help too. I have read it all and watched a video or too, but I still need a simple step by step tutorial that I have not found yet.

I have the simplest background made in Photoshop. I had trouble slicing it up in the manner that DNN wants so I can put the tokens in.

I should and would pay someone to take my more complex PSD file and return a skin zip, but I want to learn too.

I think after I get the first skin under my belt I can adapt and create more so much easier. I am a photo guru, but a skin dummy.

Maybe I can send someone a simple PSD file, or they can send me something sliced that I can modify

There's a lot more to it than slicing the graphics... you also have to define and 'balance' the header, content and footer areas, and  integrate the skin tokens and css classes in order to have something pleasing to the eye. See my www.EasyTemplateSkins.com site for some examples of commercial web templates ported to DNN skins. All these were either .psd or .png files.

References available upon request...

It's probably easier to learn from a skin you ask for. If you are interested contact me via email or MSN from my profile.
