Calling all DNN'ers.

We've got a custom DNN module which is in essence is a form which takes some values and enters them into a custom database table.

On this form along with a couple of standard text fields and check boxes we have an html editor using the FCK Editor.

<dnn:TextEditor id="txtBody" runat="server" width="600" Height="300"/>

Across the portal we have a custom configuration which has a custom style drop down and a custom format drop down when using the html module (DNN 5)

How do I get these custom portal settings into the FCK Editor I have configured on the module I've created.

What I've achieved so far is that I am able to edit  "Providers\HtmlEditorProviders\Fck\fckeditor\fckstyles.xml" to change the "Style" drop down.

So the question is, now I have my style drop down, why is it not pulling from my CSS on the site as per my portal configuration within the editor area.

Cheers

Karl

did you apply fckeditor configuration per portal or per module? I assume you chose the second scope a dn therefore it doesn't get applied to your module (or a configuration for your module is overriding portal setting and you need to delete it from inside extended editor options).

Sebastian,

Thanks for the response. On the Portal we've configured the FCKEditor to use the stylesheet of the site by using the following steps

  1. Add or edit a text in an html module using the FCK Editor
  2. Click on Show custom editor options underneath the FCK Editor
  3. Make sure "Portal" is selected as the radio option at the top
  4. Expand "Editor area CSS" options
  5. Select the dynamic radio button
  6. At the bottom of the page change the drop down to "Portal"
  7. Click on "Apply"

But currently this does not seem to get pulled through to the custom module we have created. Do you have any other suggestions to what may be the cause?

There are also no custom configurations setitngs for this module.

Many thanks

Karl

make sure, your settings are not overridden by module or instance level settings: repeat 1 and 2, select "module" from the top, click "delete" at the bottom same for "instance".

Sebastian

Thanks for the help on this. Running through the steps to clear the settings has now enabled me to use the default fck editor style sheet.

For some reason it's not picking up the portal settings, but its a solution that we can work with.

Appreciate the help.

Karl
