Hello,

I have a strange behaviour on a couple of 05.03.01 (7) hosts: the user profile link generated by the dnn:login control contains a number, and I cannot understand where does it come from. For example:

SuperUser Account (1)   |  Logout

I added some custom profile properties on these hosts, but checked both ProfilePropertyDefinition and UserProfile tables and could not see anything wrong.

What is that number due to? How to fix this?

Thanks for any help,

al.

The information displayed is for the "Display Name" property of the user account, so i would look to see what that value is set to.

 Mitchel,

the displayname is actually right, that is without any number. But I'm stupid, since there's also a tooltip on it: that is the number of private unread messages!

DNN has too much features! :-D

 Private Messages (and the Private Messages count) are new features to DotNetNuke, so we aren't all used to them!

However, you can turn off that display if you want to.  Simple include this in your skin as a parameter of the USER control:

          ShowUnreadMessages = "false"

Joseph,
thanks for the hint, I now need exactly this :)
But I cannot get it: I did what you say, bu still see the tooltip with the number of unread messages.
Here's the control declaration in my skin:

<dnn:USER runat="server" id="dnnUSER" CssClass="user" ShowUnreadMessages="false" />

Is there a  way to disable private messaging at all?
Thank you,

al.
