Hi

I've been using Visual Studio 2008 for some time now, and have installed many a test site using the DNN starterkits for VS.

DNN 5.4.1's kit though, throws out errors for many missing files... It's actually been an issue for me since DNN5.2.3 - Best I can get installed using kit is 5.2.2. Any suggestions or fixes would be appreciated.

I'm on Windows 7 (though same errors on XP) and VS2008. (I've also tried in VS2010 and same errors).

Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately there were some packaging issues, as a consequence we should (hopefully :) not be making the same mistake again.

I have two suggestions.

1) Clear your browser cache and download from codeplex again (it may have been repackaged - try it).

2) Wait for 5.4.2 - whereby we should not have made the same repeative mistake .

NB - do you really need the Visual Studio starter kit template? Most people use the install package.

Please keep me updated with your findings...

Hey Alex

Thanks for the response. I'll try your two options... Though option two is a little strange as an option.

I use the VS Starterkits when working from home. Our studio has a dedicated development server, but at home I don't want to have to hassle with setting up IIS, etc, etc. VS handles all of that for me on-the-fly. I also run WAMP server for PHP in a similar fashion - one click stuff. So, to answer, yes (and judging by the 1000+ other people who downloaded it) I do need the kit.

Jon
