One thing that would be very helpful for the issue of accessability is for those who work in this field to list specific issues and recommendations for compliance.  One example I know of is to require/recommend ALT attributes on IMG tags - and this one is pretty easy to implement.  Without a group of individuals championing the accessability cause for DNN by helping the team to alter the code to provide for accessability, it's never going to happen (at least, not 100%).
