Hi,
I've just installed DNN 5,04.01 onto Windows Server 2003 with IIS6.
I can access the initial portal fine as localhost, but not through the portal aliases, either on the hosting computer or a remote computer.
If I enter www.pcnavtex.com I get a directory listing denied; if I enter www.pcnavtexcom/Default.aspx I get error 404.

Default.aspx is in the DNN virtual directory of Default web site, and in the Documents folder of the Default web site
The NETWORK SERVICE ccount has full control of the virtual directory in Default Web Site holding the dnn code
The IUSR DEDICATED acount has read/write access to the Default web site and the DNN virtual directory within it

The default web site is set up in IIS to use all unassigned IP addresses.
There is one other web site hosted by IIS on this machine, using a fixed IP address, which works fine. If I stop this web site, I still have the error trying to access the DNN portal.

I've been struggling with this all morning, so any assistance greatly appreciated!

I had done this, but with no success.
I have found a work-around, though.
I used WFetch to try and diagnose the problem, and it pointed to access rights to the DNN virtual directory.
To me there didn.t seem to be any logical need to have DNN in a virtual directory, rather than as the home directory.
So I changed the home directory, removed the virtual directory, and all is working now.
I still don't know what was causing the problem - if anyone has any further insights I'd be glad to hear from them.
