Hi,
My DNN install hosts multiple child portals. If a user is authenticated on one portal, and opens a second portal into an other browser window, his first portal looses connexion. The accounts are differents between portals, but user machine is the same.
I suppose the problem comes from cookie by domain because no connexion is lost if i open each portal with a different navigator : first with I.E., second with Firefox, third with Chrome).
Do you know how to open all my child portals from the same browser please ?

Thank you.
Etienne.

If the child portals are using the same base URL and not sub domains, AND the user is using a different account, it isn't possible.

Ok, for the moment, I'm using the same base URL because my port is not 80, so I make redirections from domain. But when i will get my dedicated server, i will make http header and I hope that will fix that.

Thank you.
Etienne.

Hi there, Is it possible to have some sort of “shared cookie” between parent and child portals? We are running DNN 5.5.1 CE and want to offer some of our users a few pages of their own on the site. From a management point of view it’s easiest for us to just create child portals for them. The problem however is that most of our site is for registered users only, and this will be the same with these child portals. I am hoping to avoid having a user having to login in again when moving from the parent to one of the child portals and back again. So for example a user may go from: “www.mysite.com” to “www.mysite.com/childPortal” This currently works when logged in as SuperUser… so is there no way to make it possible to assign a similar type of cross portal permission (without the admin privileges obviously) to another role? Thanks, Donovan
