Got it installed but won't work. no user registration/password change options work.  Get a 'WebForm_PostBackOptions' is undefined message.  Other javascript seems to work.
js
_DoPostBack
works
WebForm_ anything
doesn't
the inventua.com solution doesn't work

sorry! this forum and dnn4.x blows.  the most useful help message I saw was "google it." really useful.
no wonder postnuke has such a huge following and dnn doesn't.

Thanks M$.

I've seen this issue in Gemini. I suggest you look there for a work-around. Personally, I haven't experienced it. I think this was an issue with child portals, but I may be wrong in that.

As far as PostNuke is concerned, why is it that the latest release of PN has ~14.5k downloads and DNN has ~26k for 4.0.3 and ~51k for 3.2.2? That's a pretty significant difference. Also, at first glance, their forums don't seem anywhere near as active as DNN's. Either way, you have the choice to use whatever software you want. We're here to help in any way we can.

My apologies.
You are right. I had as many problems installing postnuke as I have had installing DNN4.x. And the linux community's response was significantly less friendly. I think my problem is that I had no difficulties installing DNN3.x on a Win2k server, asp.net1.x with the msdn sql server... problem was that I just used it to play with... this time I was trying to do something and frustrating the hell out of myself.

Although the installation now miraculously works. (I posted steps I took to get it to work). I am now having child mode problems... which I will start a new post to complain about it.
