Yes, I can log in manually.  As a matter of fact, I get auto-logged in when I access the site from the server itself.  When I first remote in to the server via LogMeIn,  I browse to the site, which logs me in automatically, then log out, and then log back in - as dnn user: host.  It is only from other machines on the network that I get prompted for credentials.  Odd that even entering proper credentials does not get me logged in!

Would it help if I sent you some things to look at?  IIS settings, web.config, etc?

I feel like there's something not in the admin guide that I am missing.

Sorry... that's what I meant. Can you get logged in manually from machines on the network. And yes you can send me your settings to look at. Just reply to the email I sent you yesterday.

Somewhat of a breakthrough on my auto-login not working.....

I did not change any of my settings - or do anything outside of what is specified in Mike Hortons guide for setting up the AD Provider.  I did, however, enable logging in IIS 7 and found that the user's credentials were not being passed to the web server - which explains why I was boeing prompted 3 times before failing.  After the failure - Error 401 - I could get to the site, but not loggen in - no prompt as the cookie had not expired.

What I did discover is that I COULD auto-login successfully if I accessed the server by IP address.  In my case http://10.1.1.27/intranet instead of http://biserver/intranet .  Why?  I have no idea, but I'm working on it.

Any thoughts?

Did you ever get this figured out? I am having the exact same problem, to the letter. I can log in fine (as a domain admin), but nobody else can. Every single thing (EVERY thing) that you site as a symptom is happening to me as well. I have Server 2008, and using the AD provider, have tried all other suggestions I could find.

Not being able to access the server by name and only by IP turned out to be a DNS Server issue that the client claimed to resolve.  They don't know why it was ever an issue but they restarted the DNS server and that allowed everyone to access the server by name.  Networking is not my bag so I can't provide any more detail, but...if you can access by IP and not by name, then I doubt it has anything to do with DNN.  Hope this helps.
