adding
"<property name="TemplateManager.ViewPaths">~/</property> "
"<property name="ImageManager.ViewPaths">~/</property>"
"<property name="DocumentManager.ViewPaths">~/</property>"
in ConfigDefault.xml
was OK for me in 5.6.0

The RadEditor image manager will not work correctly when logged in as a SuperUser! At least this is my experience. I was getting the filemanager exception in my log, and was having problems getting the image manager to show anything. I even confirmed the squirrelly behavior of putting a comma before the path which made it half work. I even tried the dnnWerk.RadEditorProvider, and had the same problems. Logging in as a non-superuser that has rights to the proper path solved it all. It's still buggy as hell as far as creating/deleting folders and deleting items through the image manager, but at least I can view files and upload new ones now.

Sorry if this is a double-post.  My last reply didn't seem to show up.

I've experienced all the same issues as posted on this thread.  I fixed it by simply logging in with a non-SuperUser account.  The FileManagerException went away, it read my path correctly, listed the files, and let me upload.

It's still very buggy when trying to manage folders and delete files through the image manager, but at least I'm able to list/pick files and upload new ones.

Good luck.  I hope this helps.

Like Sandro, I added:

"<property name="TemplateManager.ViewPaths">~/</property> "
"<property name="ImageManager.ViewPaths">~/</property>"
"<property name="DocumentManager.ViewPaths">~/</property>"

to ConfigDefault.xml of my 5.6.0 instance and finally it showed up with content, but.... the content is strange. The left side shows the folders, starting on the portal root, but the middle view always shows the content of the portal root. So navigating to subfolders doen´t work. Also the slider shows that there are 3 pages, ´1 to 10 of 25´ but the view only shows 7 images and 3 folders. Changing the slider does not work.

While writing this reply on dotnetnuke.com I tried the image button. The dialog showed up empty. I can imagine that´s required on dotnetnuke.com.

Clearly, we need documentation of how to configure the image manager, or it should work out of the box. Does anyone not have this problem on 5.4.2 or higher?
Suggestions anyone?

Did you try my suggestion from the previous post?  I had the same results as you until I used a non-host, non-superuser account.
