Hello Rodney,

Just read your blog on Uptake of alternate logins.  What is FB now?  Also, I cannot put if in perspective without an idea how many total users you have.  If you have 500 then that is big, if you have 15,000 then I have to debate the value of a FB provider.

I have a new site about to go live for 15,000 people and I am debating whether to offer more than one login.  I would like a FB login, but I would love a Google Account Login also.

Mark

I had to turn off FB Authentication as I use the ActiveSocial product suite for my login module which does not support 3rd party providers (but gives you other cool things like templating and 2-stage registration), so I can't tell you what it is now - the numbers are useful in relation to each other - I am not sure how many active users I have (maybe around 70 different logins daily).

I would definitely plug in as many options as possible (did you see the RPX Authentication Provider from Cirrius on Snow?) - but if you look at my comment on my blog post Facebook is very popular.

ps - I have set up my test site to use the FB and RPX providers from Cirrius - see it in action here - test.pokerdiy.com/home/login.aspx... there's a few little bugs (not necessarily in the Cirrius module - it's my combination of modules on PokerDIY)

Hello Rodney,

thanks for sharing, I just had a play with it,

May I ask from where did you get the FB authentication provider?

Thanks

Mark

It's from Cirrius (great support and smart bloke!)

Facebook Connect Provider
RPX Provider

I have attached the snowcovered links with my referral code - I have not had an affiliate referral in about a year and want to see if it still works now that DNN own it?

Hello Rodney, thanks great, thanks a lot, I might try it, but I do not want them reaching into my database to extract 'friends'. I will be watching to see how I can manage and control that. Your site looks really super BTW, you must be rich :) Mark
