Hi,

we are using DNN 4.4.x and 4.9.x.
We usually configure a Login page where DNN shall redirect any unauthenticated users trying to access a page with restricted access.
DNN does just fine in redirecting to the login page with an "returnurl" parameter. DNN seems to use an ordiniary redirect which results in an "302" status code

However, we believe that a status code of "401" would be correct and "302" is wrong as well as "301" would be wrong since nothing moved anywhere (neither temporarily nor permanently)

My questions:
  • Do you share our opinion about the 401 instead of 302?
  • How do we get DNN to perform a 401?
Thank you!
