Hi Vincent

The editoroveride.css is present in the Telerik install zip in 5.44 upgrade so Yes it will be overwritten.

Its worth remembering that there where many issues when dnn moved to FCK and they all got sorted out quite quickly but this one seems to have been overlooked since dnn moved to this editor.

Sigh!

Yes, I remember some of those initial FCK issues. I've used the developer licensed RadEditor on a few sites but I was more in control in editing and creating providers. It just seems, for now anyway, the DNN created provider isn't as flexible as it could be. I 'd love to see the ConfigDefault.xml file be merged during upgrade. That process works great with web.config and makes upgrading DNN much easier - so I hope that upgrade functionality is implemented with the TelerikRadEditor provider.

I guess I'll stick with FCK for now. I'm sure this will be worked out eventually...

Thanks for you help.

Vincent

There may well be a merge during upgrade - it is the logical thing to do given that the file is present in the upgrade package.
Am upgrading something tomorrow so will test.

That said this is all part of the larger problem of a shiny new editor and scarce documentation applicable to the dnn implementation.

Agreed. Keep me posted on the upgrade. I'm anxious to see if the merge happens. Thanks again.

I posted a work around for me, as a skinning professional, where I want to keep the integrity of the skin with the darker or textured background when providing skins for clients who have the RadEditor installed as part of the DotNetNuke  - You can read it here - Rad Editor Background color.

It will eliminate the need to have a backup copy of the config files on hand incase of upgrades and it also offers a solution in case you're not able to get to the files to change them in the first place.

Hope this helps a few people.
