Ok, I go to the Godaddy Hosting control center/settings/domain manager and set the folder to go to the primary domain folder that the DNN install is in for the primary domain?

I read that forum that you posted earlier and it appears that I need to reset the DNS nameservers, but I'm unclear on what to set them to. Is this correct? If so, I know where to set that at, but what do I set them to? And it requires two of them, what do I do with that?

 Thanks, Jeff...

Yes. In my install, the GoDaddy root folder is /html - can't say for sure if yours is the same, it may be different based on which server farm you're on. But, it will definitely be the same folder where your DNN install lives. Wherever your web.config file is, that's where you want this to point.

You shouldn't need to mess with the DNS servers.  They cache the address for your domain and will automatically "see" the new pointer at some point.  One thing you can do after you make the switch (your www.whatever.com address will still be pointing at the old location) is to instead browse to http://whatever.com.  Since that access mode is less frequent, it may not be cached on your DNS and you can work with your site there, and then in a couple hours, the DNS servers will pick up the change and you should be all set.

I've done that and it only show the actual DNN site. Here's the steps I've taken and maybe you can see something that I missed.
  • Went to "Add new portal" in the module options
  • Added the Domain name for the new site, did it once as www.newdomain.com and that didn't work, so I deleted that one and did it as http://www.newdomain.com and did the rest of the process in the DNN Host/portals/add new portal menu
  • Went to the Godaddy Hosting control center->settings->domain management, then went to the new domain and changed the folder to the same name as the one where the DNN site is installed.
  • I also tried leaving the portal name as the preset default name, AND I tried hitting the "Customize" link and naming it.
So far, all it's doing is showing the primary DNN installed site and it's been about 36 hours since I did the last change.
There's got to be a step somewhere that I'm missing.
Thanks, Jeff...
