I am not a tech person.  I have built content on a site using dotnetnuke, but I have no control over the database.  The database is maxed out at 300 MB.  This has caused the website to crash.  My webhosting service has said they cannot help me.  And the tech person who set up the site is unavailable.  He has known of the problem for days, but has done nothing to help.

I need someone who knows how to clean up a DNN database that I can hire to do so.

I am not available for hire, but I can point you in the right direction to get this fixed.  However, make sure you have someone do the work that's qualified to do so.  There's nothing worse than wiping out a website entirely, and being the person that did it. ;)

First, clear out the EventLog and the SiteLog:
DELETE FROM {databaseOwner}[{objectQualifier}EventLog]
DELETE FROM {databaseOwner}[{objectQualifier}SiteLog]

Finally, clear out and repopulate the Search Index:

Remember to backup your website before doing either step, if you can.  Some web hosts do not allow backups/restores when you've reached your disk space limited.  Though, they might make an exception if you let them know what you're doing.

unfortunately, there is still a risk of inconsistency, i.e. partly executed modifications. You may also need to shink the database/db files (or ask your hosting provider to do it for you).

 Could I enter this into the SQL module to clean up a database?

@Sebastian: Nice. Thanks.

@Monte:  Yes you can.  Be aware of both what Sebastian said, and also that my script examples do not leave any records in those tables at all.  If you'd like to have the last 1-2 day in those tables or something, you will need to adjust the scripts.
