Folks,

For the past two weeks, my DNN installation is on standstill. I have posted my issue to "New to DNN" forum as well as "module management" forum but no one has yet replied for what I thought was a seemingly simple question. I hope there is someone on this forum who can help me.

I need to insert large images and videos in my blog messages. However, there is a limit of 4M of media when used in rich text editor. I am looking for either a way to change this setting or find another way to upload the images and use in my blog. Any advise will be truly appreciated,

Thank you in advance for your help.

Regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,

I am sorry that nobody find  the issue, could help you.  But about your problem:

I assume that there is a lmitation on the httpRuntime settings in the Web.config fiel which is as standard set to 8 MB.  You could change the size to the value you need and add a executionTimeout="xxx" .  Here is a s ample how it looks:

< httpruntime executionTimeout="600" requestLengthDiskThreshold="8192" maxRequestLength="8192" useFullyQualifiedRedirectUrl="true" />

Also please look to the Host Settings on Advanced Settings that your file extentions are added.

Hi Matthias,

Thank you for your help.

Web.config file was already fixed for larger size. However, the problem is not there. When you go to image manager or media manager and try to upload a file, you will see the error message that media file are supported only up to 4M. This is a different setting than the maxRequestLength setting in web.config.

Regards,
Peter

What type of media file is it?  And what is the module you are using?

please ensure you've set a large enough executiontimeout as well - http://www.telerik.com/help/aspnet-ajax/upload_uploadinglargefiles.html . If you're using the telerik version of the provider (which has been default since 5.4.0), then you have to update it's configuration as well i.e. locate \Providers\HtmlEditorProviders\Telerik\config\ConfigDefault.xml and set the imagemanager and mediamanager MaxUploadFileSize.
