Im trying to use [Tokens] in the message body and the subject of the notification email.  I have tried [Token] and '[Token]'     I am able to use [Created By] in the email to field but only get the text (ex: [Created By] or [Status]) when i use any tokens in the message body or subject

Only the subject line supports token (using Token Replace) in the form [field:fieldname] or [row:fieldname].
For a custom body, you need a custom XSL script, which is supported by a token to xsl generator.

The usage of [tokens] is sometimes confusing in Form and List, as three different engines (TokenReplace, DataSet, XSLT Generator) are in use.
