I am new to DNN.  I installed the 5.04.04 version and started developing my first module following an online tutorial.  I added my new module and it appeared in the list of modules.  The tutorial was from an older version of DNN and the instructions for adding the module were incorrect so I had to make a couple of guesses.  I believe this is where I made my mistake.  However, I figured all that could happen is that the module creation would fail and I would have to try something else.
The new module appeared on the Module Definitions page and I thought everything was fine.  I added a new page to the website and added my new module to the new page.  I now had 4 pages, Home, My new Module, Admin, and Host.  However, when I checked my new page it was blank.  I realized the depth of my problem when I exited the website and came back to it.
There were now 2 pages listed:  Home, and My new Module page.  Both were blank.  I attempted to login to see if I could find the problem.  The login link went nowhere.  So I now had a blank website.  Well, mostly blank.  It had the DotNetNuke Community banner and the menu bar that allow you to choose what page to view.  It also has the Register | Login links that seem to go nowhere.  The home page has the word "Sponsors" on it.  When I click the Register link the word sponsors changes to a small icon.  If I click the Login link the icon changes to another small icon.  The bottom pane with the "Home" link also exists.  Other than that the pages are blank.  No content in any other pane.
After chasing answers on the net for a LONG time I decided a fresh start would be the way to go.  So I deleted the content of the DotNetNuke directory, deleted the DotNetNuke database, deleted my cache and started from (what I thought was) scratch.  I even listened to and followed the latest webinar of how to install on Windows 7.  With only a couple of minor bumps in the road the install package seemed to work correctly and told me it was successful and I was ready to start developing my new website.  However,  the new install looks and acts EXACTLY the same way my corrupted one looked and acted.  The home page is blank except for the banner, menu and bottome pane with the "Home" link.  The register and login links also lead to blank pages.  My new module page is not there, so I know something got changed, just evidently not what I need.
Does anybody know what is going on here?  Is there a setup file or config file or something that I neglected to delete?  Is there a setting I am overlooking?  Is there an IIS setting I have messed up?  How could a brand new install have no page content?
