Are you using a non-standard port?

No.  The site is using the default port 80.  The URL is at http://efc.beta.nssg.com.

Are there any secured (https) pages/tabs within the site?

No secured pages on the site.  Everything is just plain http.

So what is the exact value of the record of HTTPAlias in portalAlias table? Should be
"efc.beta.nssg.com" with no slashes or http, etc

Are you sure IIS is setup properly? Can you run your exact DB and website on a local machine to verify it has the same behavior away from the staging environment?

Hi,

On a related note, I've just upgraded a number of DNN installations with no problem, but I have one at version 5.2.3, with a site with an SSL certificate, which upgraded fine on a test platform without a certificate but not on the live webserver; I've had to roll back.

With an SSL certificate visiting an SSL page makes it fall over with infinite loops when visiting an SSL page on the live site.

I can fix that issue by changing the UsePortNumber to false in the web.config, but with devestating consequences.

Now my navigation is broken. When on a SSL page, instead of my navigation going to "/thePage.aspx" it goes to https://url//Portals/0/thePage.aspx" - it worked fine in 5.2.3 and when there is no certificate present.

I am not using the standard navigation provider, but am unable to test the changes adaquately because we only have the certificate on the live site.

The provider uses:DotNetNuke.UI.WebControls.DNNNodeCollection and DotNetNuke.UI.WebControls.DNNNode, and uses the DNNNode.NavigateURL property for the destination. Has something changed on what would be returned here with SSL enabled on a page?

On the test environment, just visiting the page and ignoring the SSL certificate error gives the normal behaviour; it does not fall over and the navigation is correct.

Brian

I have found that the redirect loop does not occur in IIS7.  However, I can't figure out why.  Any thoughts on why it works in IIS7 vs. II6?
