Okay... Lets see if I can relay this... In my 'Control Panel' > "Programs and Features' it has this listed:

"Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Management Objects"
"Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 (64bit)"
"Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Native Client"
"Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Setup (English)"
"Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Setup (English)"   --- Yes, this is listed twice
"Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Setup Support Files"
"Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Setup Support Files"  --- As is this
"Microsoft SQL Server  Browser"
"Microsoft SQL Server Database Publishing Wizard 1.4"
"Microsoft SQL Server System CLR Types"
"Microsoft SQL Server VSS Writer"

So I guess I can change my previous answer to "Full version of SQL," instead of SQLEx?

It also has, ""MySQL Server 5.1" listed.... Odd.

Anyway. Given that information, how should I proceed?

You should install any of 2008 at http://bit.ly/95Xp5n 2008 R2 at http://bit.ly/9nVNKL if you receive the warning, just igone that, and then follow other steps in my previous posting.

Ok....

Downloaded the R2 and ran the 'Discovery Report.'  Here's what it found:

Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Setup Discovery Report

Product Instance Instance ID Feature Language Edition Version Clustered
None None None None None None None None


Odd, huh?

Under the 'Installation' tab, which do I select? first or second?

If I seen kind of blank on the install that's because I need to make DAMNED sure it won't nuke my existing database information...

Someone told me about a module available that you intstall and it compresses one's ENTIRE local DNN site (Pages, content databases, etc) and makes it into a single, compressed, executable file. According to him, all you have to do is migrate that SINGLE file, execute it, remotely an POOF! When the dust settles your entire DNN site is housed and database... uhm... Databased? Anyone know anything about this, since this has gotten away from being helpful?

Please give us a link to that particular module otherwise it will be difficult for us to comment how good and usefull it is. Normally you only need to upload your database (located in App_Data folder) and the DNN code itself to migrate a DNN installation. Then of course you need to sort out DNS settings for your domain names
