Hello, is there a way of having a specific, slightly modified version of one module's ascx file, so as to be able to reorder the tags inside the template for one portal and not change the others? Copying the ascx to portals directory or isn't that possible at all?

Thanks for any ideas
Ondra

NO.  You can reference different skins to the portals, that works, but if you modified a Skin for one portal you have create a own skin for it, with own name.

Actually with skins, that would be ok, I could create a new skin. But what I'm trying to achieve is to override an ascx in DesktopModules\Module\Module.ascx directory. Why I need to do this? Because one of our customers wants specific tags in the module, that others don't and I don't want to keep and use two different modules, where only ascx files differ.

Ondra, you might create a modified copy of a skin in a renamed folder aside, if you need a modified module you will need to modify module name and/or namespace as well.

So this Thread is offtopic in this Forum and have to be on the Extention - Module forum.

What you want to do is customnice a module.  This have done as a new module with different names and definations as the original.  I suggest got the source package of the module, and create a new module with the same code and modify it as you need it. Then create a own install package.
