Hello. While upgrading my site from DNN 4.9.1 (feedback module 4.4.3) to 5.5.1 (feedback module 5.0.2), I noticed that the configuration of the default Feedback module has changed. I only want feedback to route customer inquiries like on my 4.9.1 site. I don't want it to display aggregate feedback.

There was a Feedback Settings section that made this easy on the 4.4.3 module. Nothing remotely close exists on the 5.0.2 settings page. I can't even figure out how to get the standard submission to show up on the site itself with 5.0.2.  There is nothing on Google at all. Any help would be appreciated, as this is holding me up from switching over to my new 5.5.1 site. Thanks!

Although there are many new capabilities and settings available in Feedback 5.00.02, the settings which were made in the 4.04.03 version for a module already placed on a page should be retained during an upgrade. Most settings default to the same defaults of the earlier version. Regarding the guest book or feedback comments module, you can simply delete that module from the page if you do not wish to display approved feedback posts on the site. You will most likely see that the visual rendering of the module has changed and may have to play around with the settings for form width, position of field labels (above or to left of form fields), and possibly the css definitions in the file DesktopModules\Feedback\module.css to achieve the same look as the old version. The settings page is divided into a number of sections and has fairly extensive help text for each setting.

If you have questions about a particular setting, please ask.

Hello Bill. Thanks so much for the reply. I didn't actually upgrade. I'm building a new site from scratch and copying over content, so I placed the new Feedback module on a new DNN 5.5.1 page. It is the Feedback Settings section of the module that I no longer see in the 5.0.2 version. I still see it on the existing site that is running the 4.04.03 module. What I see on the page now is a module that simply says: "There is no published feedback to be shown at this time." On the existing site, there is a submission form. Without the Feedback Settings part of the Module Settings itself, I am still a bit lost.

No wonder you're lost . . . it appears that only the GuestBook/Feedback Comments module is getting placed on the page. When adding the Feedback module to a page there should two modules automatically placed on the page. The second one is the main module which displays the Feedback form. That is also the one whose settings page contains all the options for customizing the module. The settings page of the GuestBook/Feedback Comments module only contains the settings for display of the GuestBook.

I'm not sure why only the GuestBook/Feedback Comments module is displaying. I would suggest checking Admin-->Event Viewer to see if any related errors are being logged. Also, take a look at the module installation's registration (using Host-->Extensions page) and check that the module's registration is showing TWO module definitions. Finally, I would try uninstalling the module (again using the Host-->Extensions page), download a fresh copy of the install package from the project's downloads page at http://dnnfeedback.codeplex.com, and reinstall it as you would any downloaded extension.

I can't thank you enough for your help. This was driving me crazy! I checked the Extensions page and there were two module definitions as you said. So I deleted the module from the page, emptied the recycle bin, reinstalled, and this time both appeared. Now I can finally finish this project! :-) Thank you again.
