Hi,

I am having problems deleting threads in the forum Module. If I hit delete, it takes me to the message that I can send the user when the thread is deleted, I hit delete, the popup shows up and I hit ok. After this the popup goes away and then nothing happens. If I click the delete button again quickly it will show an error message.

I get the following error message in my Event Viewer:

The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint "FK_Forum_UserThreads_Forum_Threads". The conflict occurred in database "DotNetNuke", table "dbo.Forum_UserThreads", column 'ThreadID'. The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint "FK_Forum_Threads_Forum_Posts". The conflict occurred in database "DotNetNuke", table "dbo.Forum_Threads", column 'LastPostedPostID'. The statement has been terminated. The statement has been terminated.

I have tried deleting the threads manually from the Database, but I get a similar error, where one table tells me that it has a Reference Constraint to a table. If I go to the second table and try to delete from there it tells me it has a Reference Constraint to the first table.

Also, in one of my forums it shows I have 2 pages, if I click on page 2, the URL changes to go to page 2 but the threads do not change.

Any Ideas what might be happening?

There was a bug in the stored procedure, but I can't remember what it was exactly. If you are using DNN 5.4.1 or greater, consider installing the Forum 5.0 if you can. If not, you can download it and check out the updated post_delete stored procedure (not exactly user friendly though).

Thanks for the Reply Chris, Where can I find Forum 5.0 to download? I took a look on the Forge Link here and it shows 4.5.3 and googling for it didn't find me any results either (unless I was just googling for the wrong thing.) Thanks, Chris

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the link to the download. I am still getting errors when trying to delete a thread. I thought maybe the module on the page maybe didn't update correctly, so I Removed the module from the page and recycle bin and then started over. Alas I still get the delete error:

Error: is currently unavailable.

DotNetNuke.Services.Exceptions.ModuleLoadException: The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint "FK_Forum_UserThreads_Forum_Threads". ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: The DELETE statement conflicted with the REFERENCE constraint "FK_Forum_UserThreads_Forum_Threads".

Any other ideas why this might be going on?
