heliNet, as far as i can see from your other posts, there are other issues in your installation.

Tried the dedicated pool and shrunk the databases -although they were brand new databases. Still have the problem.I watched activity monitor whil the delays were happening, and noticed nothing, although I'm not really sure I'm looking at the right thing - I'm no DD admin...

If it helps, I noticed that I get the delays primarily when entering edit mode or saving content from a module (although they do occur other times). It seems I can navigate from page to page easily. After saving content, the skin is often gone, but reappears quickly after a refresh. Don't know if this helps.

Who should the App Pool Identity be? LocalSystem  or ApplicationPoolIdentity?   I noticed there were permissions set for DefaultAppPool, I changed to the new DNNAppPool, but I don't see that as an group or username to add to permissions. Who should be in permissions?

Perhaps an IIS remove/reinstall?

Thanks for the help!

Jack

Jack,

If you have changed your AppPool Identity, then you need to change your permissions. It is also safe to remove the DefaultAppPools permissions.

I have blogged about this here (http://blog.nddllc.com/2010/03/24/installing-dotnetnuke-on-iis-7-5/). Hope it helps you out.

Excellent blogs - I now feel I understand the whole app pool identity thang. I only wish I understood why my site won't work. I did set this up in the default website - I need to run this under locahost. This is my dev machine, I need this site for mdoule development and testing. I what to try a demo of DNNArticle, which must run under localhost.

Nothing I have done for the past week has helped. I even deleted the database. web, site and IIS itself. Reinstalling everything from scratch gives me the same 2-3 minute delays loading/editing modules. This has to be something stupid on my machine, but I'm at a loss finding it. No event log errors, SQL Activity monitor is not showing me anything.

I tried the MS Web Platform installer, then created my own app pool, and use the app pool identity for the site pemissions. Nothing works. It's interesting to note that the pages do not error, they just take FOREVER to load.

If anybody has any  other ideas, they would be a HERO!

Jack
