Chris...

I see in your blog post you only add the AppPool\app pool name to the folder permisions...

Does the SERVICE or NETWORK SERVICE need to be added as well?

You also only add it to the website folder, what about the parent folder of the website?

The Network Service account is not need in IIS 7.5 unless you're using the DefaultAppPool. Network Service/Service/Trusted Installer are not needed in your permissions.

The website directory should be the only directory your AppPool has access to, anything more is overkill.

Got it, thanks. I agree Modify only is what we use.

This post already shows up as a top result in Google search, so hopefully it will assist others as well.

Good job DNN SEO/Forum team.

Chris,

In your IIS 7.5 installation when you click on YOUR WEBSITE > BASIC SETTINGS > TEST CONNECTION

do you receive an "Cannot verify access to path" message as well....is this normal?

No, this is not normal. You should receive a meeasge that you've passed Authentication and Authorization test and that "The application pool identity is valid."

Something is not correct.
