I will do some poking around and see if there is any way I can check permissions. I will check FTP tonight and see if I can see permissions via that. If I can find out I will post back the findings.

I am unable to see what permissions are set on the folder structure. I will just have to run with this and if any errors occur contact the hosting company. Thanks for your help.

It looks like I do have a problem. I made a skin in Artisteer, just something simple and quick. Went to install it under the Extensions bit. All looked good until the end, no errors on the install but the Extensions module now give a Critical error Module of instance not set to instance (or something similar)

I am going to try the skin on my test site on my local PC but ti should work. I think the error came about when it tried to delete or write some files. I think the permissions are not set as you said.

Can you tell me if I try to install the forum module with incorrect permissions on the site will I get errors as well? I don't mind if the site dies as there is nothing on it and I have a backup of the fresh install.

Thanks

I had no errors installing DNN Forums module on any of my DNN test installations (in production I prefer Active Forums).
