Here is my scenario:

My website (denversolarandwind.com) is currently hosted by ihostasp and we use dnn.
I am changing web hosts to godaddy.
I have FTPd all of my current site's files to the new FTP location at godaddy.
Using the database publishing wizard I was able to import my database from ihost to godaddy.
By using godaddy's previewdns site, I can see that dnn has been installed because the generic dnn home page shows up and it also shows our favicon, so I know that the files are there, however, i know that it must not be working correctly because the generic dnn page shows up instead of my current site's homepage.

Is there anything besides simply FTPing the files and importing the database that I should be doing? PLEASE help!

you need to ensure that coth connection strings in web.config meet the new location. besides, if you changed domain address, new address needs to be added as portal alias (in database table portalalias).

both connection strings are correct and using the new location string. what would be the steps for starting all over. should there be an order that i go in (ie. ftp before database/database before ftp)

my connection string information i am getting from godaddy.

here is what i see on godaddy:

Host Name: database420.db.6504737.hostedresource.com
Database Name: database420
Database Version: 2005
Description: database for dsaw
User Name: #####

with the following connection string:

< add name="SiteSqlServer" connectionstring="Server=database420.db.6504737.hostedresource.com;Database=database420;uid=#####;pwd=*****;" providername="System.Data.SqlClient">

does all of this seem correct?

you need to have everything in place to start the site, but besides, there is no order. Did you check file system permissions for the ASP.Net account?
