I'd wager that this is happening on a lot of 5.6.1 sites but people just haven't realized it yet. I wouldn't have known if it wouldn't have affected one of the admins on the site. I'm guessing that a lot of people just assumed the site was down and never reported anything... Another interesting note is that for us the problem first showed up as a 404-ish page not found error. I realized this was because all errors on our site were configured to redirect to that error message. This was done in response to an .NET security vulnerability that was sent out last year... -JB

Does it matter whether you are using GZip or Deflate as the compression type?

We tried it with both Gzip and deflate and it threw the exception in both cases...

I got a hint, it might be caused by the action menu (which still uses solpart menu by default), may anyone test, whether the issue can be solved by using a different one like free WatchersNet (dnnmoduleactions.codeplex.com).

I wasn't aware you could even change the action menu.   I'm willing to give it a try.  Is there a provider for that?
