A fresh installation of 5.6.1 CE is failing with the error 'Error Installing Module(s): Telerik (05.06.00)'.  I've found plenty of other threads that explain how to resolve this during an upgrade but as this is a brand new install and the Telerik module is required to proceed with the installation I'm stuck.  All of the other modules are selectable but this one is grayed out.  Same error was happening on 5.6.0 before I went and found that a slightly newer version was available.  The database and website files have been deleted and created from scratch numerous times and this is always the end of the line.  I was looking for an installation log but couldn't find a more helpful error message anywhere.  I'm also unable to use the event viewer built into DNN since I can't actually get the site running in any form.  Any suggestions?

You can go to the SQL Server and see the log on the EventLog table, by executing the following T-SQL

SELECT * FROM [DotNetNuke].[dbo].[EventLog]

I've the same error and I've seen this exception:

ExceptionSystem.UriFormatException: Invalid URI: A Dos path must be rooted, for example, 'c:\'.     at System.Uri.CreateThis(String uri, Boolean dontEscape, UriKind uriKind)     at System.Xml.XmlResolver.ResolveUri(Uri baseUri, String relativeUri)     at System.Xml.XmlTextReaderImpl..ctor(String url, XmlNameTable nt)     at System.Xml.XmlDocument.Load(String filename)     at DotNetNuke.Services.Installer.Installers.ConfigInstaller.Install()

The error was because I was installing in the Root path of a drive (X:\) using a VHD for other purpouses. Using a subfolder (i.e. X:\DotNetNuke) fixs the problem
