Good Morning All,

I've been developing a new shopping cart based on DNN 5.6.1 and have created add a customised user login and registration page securing both with SSL.

Here are the following steps I took to do this:

1. Logged in as Host added the Users and Roles module via Admin > Site Settings > Advanced Settings > Hosting Settings > Premium Modules

2. This allowed the Users and Roles modules to be added to the new registration page created via Admin > Pages

3. Edited the settings for the new registration page securing it with SSL and setting the View Page permissions to All Users

4. Proceeded to enable Verified registration and set the new registration page via Admin > Site Settings > Advanced Settings > Page Management

5. So far so good it seems ...

6. Logout of DNN to test the page and clicked the Register link

However this was as far as I got, the new registration page loaded but instead of seeing the registration for Ithe following error message was displayed "This account doesn't exist" !!!

I've treid logging back in to setting the registration back to its default <None Specified> and the portal just redirects back to the home page.

Can anyone offer some advice on how to resolve this? or let me know what tables in the databases I need to be looking at to reset the registration portal back to its original status?

PS. Compression has been switch off in the Host Settings > Performance Settings

Thanks in advance for your time.

Simon

Had a look through all the tables in the DNN database related to Modules and Users, and did another comparison with another DNN database ... no joy after many hours. It seem the issue was related to corrupted data for the Super User Account in the DNN database as certain bits of functionality was missing causing pages to run as Portal Admin, I still not sure if this issue could be related to my network connection (packet loss) or corrupted data. I've exported a copy of the portal (template and template.resources) and uploaded it to my _default folder on a second DNN demo server and created a new portal with that uploaded template, the new portal had the same issue as the original one from where the template was exported from, so its safe to say its a single portal and Super User Account related issue only. To conclude I've ended up having to revert to backup copies of the DB, still no joy so I deleted the DNN database and carried out a fresh new DNN installation. All working now, ust the grueling task of reconfiguring the skins and modules.

I tried to upgrade to 5.6.1(from 5.6.0)  but the upgrade failed although i restored the previous version but started getting the same issue, "This account doesn't exist" on some registration pages not all!

And tried to create a custom registration page similar to the above, but still am getting the same issue.

Hi Salem,

That is the exact problem I was getting, which was related to the Host > Module Definitions page missing the option to Uninstall any modules, but was allowed to Edit. When Editing a module I had a lot of missing fields in the Extensions Setting section like the Assigned Premium Modules which was missing the Assigned and Unassigned for the portals, and Modules Definition.

This led to a conclusion that the Super User Account had corrupted permission settings, which used mixed restricted Portal Admin Account functionality when logged in the Super User Account due to relationship entities in the DNN database not being correctly set for the Super User Account.

I'm lucky I was still in the development stage of the site, many hours wasted. It would be nice to have a SQL script that checks and resets the original Super User Account settings along with all the related modules and permissions to default, however this might be a little more complicated.

Anyway Salem, thanks for sharing the same issue - good luck with the development and keep up the good work on the new site.

Best Regards,
Simon

Thanks Simon:

Your reply explains same problem prior I to the last problem  which is can not remove or uninstall any module (from the host setting), I even made  posting, received a reply from a DNN Corp employee but it was little help, it seem an issue  the core teams should look at at the next release

The posting:

I will look into the database table and if I come out with something will keep you posted,
