I am trying to add a count down timer to a webpage and it seems Telerik is removing the code?  With the FCK Editor I could use an HTML module and goto Source, lay down the javascript and all was well.  With Telerik, it removes the script?  I noticed this first using a Google Analytics code in an HTML module, so I converted old pages to use the GA now within the core.  Now I am trying to add a counter to a site and it's doing the same thing, removing the script code.  Any words of wisdom?

Thanks,

Dave

switch to plain text editor or put the text into the header setting of the module.

Problem putting the script in the simple text editor or html is that you lose all the functionality of the radeditor which can be a real pain.

I put the jscript into my skin. I find that is far more useful as it means I can use in different pages and continue to use the editor.

Miles and Sebastian, thanks for the suggestions.  I probably need to take Miles advice as I rely heavy on the editor.  I am 8 parts admin and only two parts programmer.

Miles, I presume I add the javascript code to the bottom of my skin.css file?  Here is the countdown script we have used for the last couple of years Telerik is wiping out.

<script language="JavaScript"> TargetDate = "7/2/2020 7:00 AM"; BackColor = "palegreen"; ForeColor = "navy"; CountActive = true; CountStepper = -1; LeadingZero = true; DisplayFormat = "%%D%% Days, %%H%% Hours, %%M%% Minutes, %%S%% Seconds."; FinishMessage = "It is finally here!"; </script> <script language="JavaScript" src="http://scripts.hashemian.com/js/coundown.js"></script>

Miles can you provide some sybtax within my HTML source to reference this script? I am guessing I need to tag the script with a "class" and then call on it in the HTML? Like I said I am not a programmer so I wouldn't know what the syntax would look like.

I do wish that Telerik would leave the javascript in place like the old editor.  I am not sure what theor rationale is since it seems like a downgrade.

Thanks for the help.

Sebastian,

I tried using a plain text editor and the HTML retains the script code now but it doesn't render in a browser when I view look at the page?

Can you tell me more about putting this into the header of the module?  If I put the script in the header, how do I call on it within the page?

Thanks always,

Dave
