I recently added a media module to a Webpage and the player is not visible in the new version of Firefox (4.0).  It shows up and plays fine in IE and Chrome.  Any ideas?  Thanks for any help.

Just downloaded Safari for Windows, and it works fine there too.  Just no luck at all with Firefox...

The media module doesn't have a "player".  It relies on the client (you and your web browser) to have a media plugin of some kind already installed on your computer.  For example, if a WMV file is specified, you need Windows Media player installed, or another media player that will render WMV files in the web browser.  I personally test the module in Firefox regularly.

That being said, there is room here for you to have a use case where the media won't play due to a rendering bug in the code that the module emits.  Please respond with more details about the file you're trying to play, the browser version, the operating system you're on, and anything else you feel is relevant.

Thanks, Will!  I updated both my Java plug-in and my Windows Media Player (to version 11 for XP-64, and now it's working.  Appreciate your help!

PS  A friend tried to access the page in Safari from a Mac and got an error message saying that a required plug-in wasn't available.  Is this a similar situation in that a media player plug-in for Safari on a Mac must be loaded?
