Chris, thanks for the info.  Do you know if it's been settled whether or not the new combined forum will offer mail connector in the community edition?

Michael,

Thanks, that's a glimmer of hope.  Did you have Active Forums on your website before you upgraded it, or did you install it on there after the upgrade?

I wonder if I can get a copy of that later version of Active Forums to try to replicate your upgrade path.  Not sure if it's being offered still.

The AS / AF modules were already already installed on DNN 4.9.5 prior to the upgrade of the DNN framework; I may have upgraded AS / AF once while on DNN 5.6.2 before upgrading to 5.6.3. Not aware of any issues. Haven't tried to move to DNN 6 yet except on some test sites; won't right away, but am liking what I see on the test sites. Don't have AS on the test sites, so nothing to report there.

Actually I am quite bummed to hear this... As far as the Active forums I passed that up a long time ago simply because of the AJAX used through out that forum. The user has the ability to turn it off but the admin does not.... go figure.

Active Forums stopped using AJAX for the main end user interfaces over a year ago.

Hey there Will, you might be considered a good source for this discussion (since you made the forum), thanks for dropping by.  Interesting that you mention the AJAX, just yesterday I purchased from SnowCovered AF Enterprise 4.3.5 since it is compatible with my current DNN4 portal and DNN5.  The one thing I've noticed in the little bit of time I've had to test it out is that the Control Panel icons across the top (with the exception of "exit") result in a "loading" ajax icon but it doesn't refresh the screen to the new information.  But if as admin I click on "view" or "edit" across the admin bar at the top of DNN, it then brings up the new function that I was trying to get.  Seems to be an AJAX issue, but as an end user I don't have any issues with this, posting in the forum, replying, etc.  I tried allowing "partial rendering" in the module definition to see if that would help administrators with this issue, but no dice.

I'm hoping to migrate my existing forum to the AF Ent 4.3.5 and then will consider upgrading to a DNN5 version since it's supported by AF, and because another in this thread said he was able to similarly upgrade without an issue.

I like the changes so far that I've seen in the new AF 4.3.5.  Would like to figure out this "control panel" AJAX issue, but it doesn't appear to be a show stopper even if I have to cycle between edit/view for every request on it.
