Is it possible to restrict which events are shown to a user based on a category?  I've seen some posts on doing this using roles but can't figure out how to do it.

Hi Rhys,

Could you explain in more detail what you are trying to achieve? There is the standard filtering by category built in to the module, or you can restrict a module to show only one category, or you can set the initial category using a parameter in the URL.

If you are trying to restrict what categories a person can see, this isn't directly possible, but you can do achieve the effect by use of sub-calendars. If you restrict sub-calendars to specific categories, then restrict access to the calendars to  the specific roles you want, then role these up into a single master calendar.

Cheers

Roger
