I came across the Avatar My Tokens (version 1.8.2) Module on SnowCovered that might have a solution for the thing I want.

(Disclaimer: I don't have any connections with Avatar and I currently don't have any experience (good or bad) with this module or any Avatar software.)

I'm looking at this module, but I'm concerned about the performance implications. What's your experience with it?

Seems like overkill given what you originally asked for - being show some info from the database E.g. "Author 1 & Author 2" - which could be done so much easier with a couple of lines of code in RAZOR.

But give it a try I guess - me I would have had some RAZOR code running about an hour after you asked the question 2 weeks ago ... Some time there is a danger in over thinking things.

PS the definition of RAZOR as slower is a very relative thing - we are talking maybe seconds slower - which could have an impact of a machine with 2million hits - but well by then you would maybe have converted it to a module or some other solution.

fwiw have a look at this image - it show razor doing what you are looking for - but in this case using the built in dnn user list

And here is the walkthru for how it was done - in all about 100lines of code a lot of which is actually just the html markup and layout.

My requirements are different than the original poster's. I'm looking to add new tokens to the existing Text/HTML module. The catch is: using a custom module is not an option. There are features with Text/HTML that I and my users depend on. If I developed my own module, then I lose the Text/HTML features.

I use DNN Pro, so the source code is not an option to fork.

Just looking to inject new tokens, and if Avatar's My Soft can meet these requirements, it's worth looking into. But if the performance is not up to par, forget about it!
