Recently we had our SQL server down and we managed to get the server back up and the site seemed just fine, but….Ever since no one  (from 150 users) can log in to DNN. DNN treats all logins invalid: “Login Failed. Please remember that passwords are case sensitive” (all roles: user, superuser, admin). I tried different browsers with the same results. We are running DNN 5.0.6. To clarify the term “locked out” from the subject line – in the database users are not shown locked out – what would happen after too many failed login attempts – they just cannot log in.

I searched everywhere for the solution but I just found few people having the same problem but on child portals, and  Ricardo Lourenço  on this forum: http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/F...

Unfortunately nobody answered him.

Does anyone have an idea how to regain the access? Thank you in advance!

Did you change anything in your web.config files? Perhaps you lost the Machine encryption and decryption keys? I would compare an older backed up copy of your web.config (hoping you have one) with the current web.config

Machine keys in Web.config files are the same. We managed to get "register" link on the page (through DB and code) and registered a new user. Then we made it superuser in the database and from there we were able to manage all users. All users needed their passwords reset, and we are still working on that.

However, we still don't know what caused whole mess.

Thank you very much for your quick reply!

It's just original default login module, but I don't think that matters (might be wrong on that).
