I am have installed the Gallery module 4.04.00 on DNN CE 5.6.2 (WINDOWS 2008 & MS Express), it installed without any error, and added the module to a page without any issue. But when I configure the module and update the settings  the first time, the page is killed I get the following:

This webpage has a redirect loop

The webpage at http://arabaviation.com/Default.aspx?tabid=428&def=ErrorMessage has resulted in too many redirects. Clearing your cookies for this site or allowing third-party cookies may fix the problem. If not, it is possibly a server configuration issue and not a problem with your computer.

Here are some suggestions:

·         Reload this web page later.

·         Learn more about this problem.

Error 310 (net::ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS): There were too many redirects.

I have not encountered that error before and don't have enough information to go on to even begin to suggest a solution.

Please check the following and post your findings in this thread:

  • Did you do a fresh install of Gallery 4.04.00 or was this an upgrade from an earlier version of Gallery? If so, from what prior version of Gallery and whether or not the existing Gallery contained media and/or child albums?
  • If you are able to get back into the Gallery configuration, what value is shown for the Root URL setting?
  • Are there any related errors logged in the Admin --> Event Viewer?
  • Try opening the website and navigating to the page containing Gallery using FireFox browser. Usually FF gives a more detailed error message regarding redirect loops.
  • Take a look at your portal's folder structure outside of DotNetNuke. The top level folders for a Gallery module (if RootURL is the default) should be:

Portals
   |___ <Portal #>
            |___ Gallery
                    |___<ModuleID>
                             |__  _source
                             |__  _thumbs

Is this folder structure present?

  • Is your site running in  an ASP.Net 4.0 application pool?
  • Are friendly url's enabled in Host Settings?
  • Are human friendly url's enabled in the web.config?

Thanks for the kind suggestions, if i changed the default folder "Gallery" to my own created folder, I kill the page and get the below exception (eventlog). I stuck with the default folder "Gallery"  while I can have my own subfolder (not ncessary the created folders by default), it works like a gem!
