Yes, the information is stored within the database. However all your host will need to do is make a FULL backup of your database in a .BAK file and then send you that over. This requires no custom programming at all.

Besides the full database, you also need a copy of web files for your DNN site. You need to access the previous server and get a copy of all files for your DNN site along with a full backup of DNN database for your site. No other programming is required here.
