Thomas,
Do you get that error if you do NOT have a Dashboard on the page? or do you get it regardless of whether you have a Dashboard or not?

Thomas,
I am unable to reproduce the issues you are having with the View/Edit mode and filter drop down.  I have installed a clean copy of DNN 6.0.2, and installed the Repository module 3.5.5 Beta (with the updated .dll)

I am able to switch back and forth from View to Edit and back, I setup categories and am able to filter the list using both the category dropdown in the header, and a dashboard module I placed on the same page.

It all works as expected with no errors on the screen or in the event log.

If someone is willing to test this for me....

*NOTE*  For now I need someone running Repository 3.5.4 on DNN 5.X but NOT DNN 6.X just yet.

So if you're are NOT running DNN 6.X yet and are having the performance issue

1) backup the DotNetNuke.Modules.Repository.dll file in your bin folder
2) down a new .dll from here http://www.gooddogs.com/files/dotnetn...
3) place it in your bin folder
4) recycle your application

now, try your site and see if the performance is now acceptable

I will have a similar test for those of you running 6.X in a short while

thanks

 Hello Steve,

Thanks so much for answering !! I am using DNN 5.6.3 and Repository 3.5.4.
I done the previous test (with SQL Query) without noticing improvements.

Regarding the DLL you propose, Symantec Anti-Virus report a menace: http://securityresponse.symantec.com/...
Would you please be so kind to check the problem, and provide a solution (my anti-virus delete it and I am unable to download/use it) ? Then, I will be more than happy to do the test !

By the way, I do not experiment any problem with the category selection in DNN 5 (check http://declic-video-fx.com/language/e... where I use it, as well as http://declic-video-fx.com/language/e... ) --> I removed the dashboard, but even without dashboard, it's long to load compared to what it was before (and compared to other pages like contact: http://declic-video-fx.com/language/e...)

 Hi Steve,
thank you for digging into it. My installation is obviously not a clean 6.0.2 one, but an upgrade of an upgrade of an upgrade startin from somewhat 4.3 when I remember correctly. So it might be an issue with that. I have to install a clean one beside and try to switch over. Dunno how to do that in detail, but that is not a problem of this thread.

Interestingly also a direct jump to an item does not work e.g. when coming from the search results of the site. It jumps to the main repository page, but not into the item that was found. But I do not see any errors in the log. When I switch myself into edit mode (e.g. as admin) and then do the search and the jump it works. This is quite strange. Could it come from the "personal repository" feature or the "item level security" feature ? Do I have to cleanup/default some columns in the upgraded database to fix that ?

However, I will further try
Thanks for your effort

Regards
Thomas

P.S.
I have already solved my text editing problem that comes from the FCKEditor. Switched to the Dotnetnuke.RADEditor provider and all is fine. No need to worry about that.... pfuh.

Steve,
We are running DNN Pro 5.6.3 with version 3.5.4 of the repository.
I updated the respository dll with the new one you provided and it seems to be working better. I had initially removed the dashboard, which helped, but have since re-added the dashboard to the page after updating the dll.  The repository is perfoming better for us now. Thank you.
