I have tried on a number of cases to upload/install custom skins from DNN 5.0 to my DNN 6.0.  Once they are installed it tells me no skins available under the skin section within the admin site.  What am I doing wrong?

Hi Steven ~

I believe (though am not 100% certain) that skins in DNN6 are actually required to be packaged "properly" like other extensions.  This means including a manifest file (*.dnn) which tells the framework certain things it needs to know about the extension it is installing.

Could you look at the zip file and let us know if it contains a <filename>.dnn file?

Hi Stiven

There is an excellent example and details for creating a manifest file written by Joe Brinkman http://www.theaccidentalgeek.com/post/2010/09/07/DotNetNuke-Skinning-101-%28Part-4%29.aspx
If you follow the Instructions mentioned in the blog post in above link Your problem will be Solved and then you will see your skin in the extensions wizard.
