Hi guys,

I have been working on the content of my DNN 6 site and I'm now so frustrated with the way the editor works. Whats shown on the page is different from what show in the editor and it adds all kinds of styles and all. I have stripping the format and have just given up getting my page to look like how I want. I am now actually adding the content using HTML just to get it right. It there an alternative to the editor I can use? Please help?

Hi Donald, there are three standard editors in DNN6 - FCK, Telerik and DNN, have you tried using them all?

Thanks, was not aware that the FCK is still part of DNN and that DNN had their own editor. Do I need to set the default in the web.config like you used to in DNN 5? Will change and try it out, thanks

You don't need to use the web.config file anymore, there is a new HTML Editor Manager in DNN6 under Host.

Or at least there should be but it was left out of the upgrade somehow (this may be part of your problem). If you haven't got it, then check out this thread http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Forums/forumid/108/postid/424745/scope/posts.aspx#424745 (see the fourth post by Westa as to installation).

Apart from using the manager to set the editor of choice, you will probably need to use it to customise the editor toolbars as well.

please see http://www.dotnetnuke.com/Resources/Wiki/Page/HTML_Editor_Providers.aspx for a list of html editor providers. However, can I please ask you to register any issues you have with the telerik provider at support.dotnetnuke.com so we are aware of them and can fix them (I know 1 issue regarding bulletpoints was registered but Im not aware of others)
