I have a DNN page that contains a hyperlink to an HTTPS: URL embeded in the html text. When viewed from the intranet (Addressed via IP address) the URL is correct. When viewed from the Internet (Addressed by name WWW...) the hyperlink HTTPS: URL changes to something else. I have SQLed the backend database and can not find any references to this random URL in any tables. I have searched the website files looking for the URL. I do not understand what and how this URL is being changed when the page is accessed via the Web. Can anyone give me a clue where else to look?

its probable that you have a loadbalancer/NAT server that is rewriting the path -often load balancers will handle offloaded SSL requests and transform the request to a HTTP version, or else redirect requests to handle multiple server loadbalancing (typically private non-routable IP/machine names). This is all fine but you will have to ensure you have portal alias's for any rewritten requests.

Thanks Mate.

I have deduced that IIS6 and DNN has nothing to do with this issue and that it is Network Infrastructure related as you have explained. Although the exact cause is still to be identified I have put in place a workaround to replace the desired URL with a URL pointing to another DMZ App server (now acting as intermediate) website which I have created a redirect on to point to the desired URL (A different App server entirely) and this seems to work ok.

The investigation continues. I will repost when the solution is discovered. Thanks again for your advice.
