Hi,

Can't get my head around this one.

Running DNN 6.0.1. I have a main domain that had some child portals, which were subsequently converted to parent portals (domain names added) and the old child portal aliases were deleted.

Now I need to reverse the process and convert the parent portals back to child portals but when I add a child portal alias a blank alias appears and then disappears after a refresh.

Just to confuse issues, one portal was originally a child of a subdomain, ie www.sub.domain.com/child and I want to make it www.domain.com/child as I need to delete the subdomain.

I'm hoping I'm missing something quite obvious/simple. Any ideas?

TIA

Hi again,

In the absence of any replies, I have been tinkering.

Firstly, I thought about templating the site and using it to create a new child portal but apparently the child portal name is still in use from before.

I notice there is a folder under the wwwroot with the child portal name containing 3 files, default.aspx, old-default.aspx and an html file.

I'm wondering whether I need to delete this folder in order to either add the child portal name back or create another child portal.

Any ideas anyone?

TIA
